Mardi Gras Race

The Canadian Dragons have been working hard for the upcoming Mardi Gras race on February 25. This event mixes members from all the dragon boat teams and assigns them to a specific boat. The teams then complete a course around the Kallang Basin and Marina Bay with different tasks that should be completed at multiple stations. The race is followed by a BBQ on the banks of the Kallang Basin. It’s a great race and an enjoyable and social afternoon. 


We are always looking for new paddlers and now is a great time to join with various fun races in the upcoming months. There is also plenty of time to train and prepare for the Singapore Dragon Boat Festival the last weekend of June. This is a big race and the Canadian Dragons have a medal to defend!


If you are interested in joining our great team, come out for training at Kallang Riverside Park. We have boat training Saturdays from 4:00 – 6:00, and Sundays from 10:00 – 12:00. Please come 30 minutes early to sign in, get kitted out – we have PFD’s and paddles, and to warm up. Hope to see you soon.
